The French Press

To do this, you just need to infuse 10 to 12 g of ground coffee per cup of simmering water (90 to 95 ° C) for 3 minutes. Then you will need to gently press the plunger to keep the coffee fully. Its operation is based on a back-and-forth system. That is to say, the water passes twice through the coffee. For the preparation, pour the water into the flask, and the coffee into the filter placed in the brewing chamber.
The water by heating will rise under air pressure which expands it. Then, when half the water has mixed with the coffee, start to gently stir the preparation. Once all the water has risen, wait about 60 to 90 seconds to turn off. As it cools, the air shrinks and creates a mini-depression to suck up the water.
It is this vacuum system that sucks up the water and then accelerates the infusion a little.
